Twitter


Twitter is a social networking and microblogging service. It enables its users to send and read other user's messages which are called tweets. Tweets are text based posts up to 140 characters displayed on the users profile page. Tweeps (users) can subscribe to other's tweets, this is known as following, and subscribers are known as followers. Twitter service is completely free and open to everyone.
Since its creation, Twitter has gained notability and popularity worldwide and currently has more than 100 million users worldwide.

Being on Twitter is really easy, it works basically as sending a SMS but to everyone and with instant updates. It is actually more profound than saying what you are doing every minute. As said before, it is a microblogging service so you can atually post whatever you want.

Google Buzz

Google Buzz is a social networking and messaging tool from Google that is integrated into the company's web- base email program, Gmail. Using this program the users can share links, photos, videos, status messages and comments organized in "conversations" and visible in the user's inbox.
Buzz allows users to choose to share publicly with the world or privately to a group of friends each time they post.The creation of Buzz was seen by industry analysts as an attempt by Google to compete with social networking websites likeFacebook and microblogging services like Twitter.

FLICKR

Fickr is an image hosting and video hosting website, web services suite, and online community created by Ludicorp and later acquired by Yahoo! In addition to being a popular website for users to share and embed personal photographs, the service is widely used by bloggers to host images that they embed in blogs and social media. In September 2010, it reported that it was hosting more than 5 billion images.
 Digg is a social network that its topics is especially about science and technology, it is like a democratic  web side were it allows you to put a post on whatever topic you want, it checks like the points of the post by the help of the users that vote on the post.
Function: if there is many persons that vote for your post, it will appear in the front page, it also allows you to publish a story, with the launch of Digg 3.0 in june/26 has been divided in 6 cathegorys: Technology, Science, World and bussines, Videos, Entertainment, Games,

slideshow

A slideshow is a display of a series of chosen pictures, which is for r artistic or instructional purposes. Slideshows are conducted by a presenter using an apparatus, like a carousel slide projector, an overhead projector or in more recent years, a computer running presentation software. The term originates from the use of slides which have been around for many years. Slides originally were projected on a screen, for example in a theater. Slide shot is for Upload and share powerpoint presentations online with same look and feel of the desktop, supporting self running presentations, animations and HD quality graphics.

Prezi


Prezi is a web-based  presentation application tool that uses a single canvas instead of traditional slides.on this canvas you can put either images, photos, text and many different things to make non linear presentations, different of those we already know.The presentation can be developed in a browser window, then downloaded so that an  internet connection is not needed when showing the presentation.Prezi has two diffrerent licenses for people to use the application. there is the free Prezi Public license where you can post different presentations and they will always be shown to the public. The other is the Prezi Enjoy or Prezi Pro license which provides either private or public presentations.

YouTube

YouTube is a website which you can host, share and watch videos from all around the world. It is a player-based Adobe Flash to play their videos. This is because to reproduce videos on internet, requires a PC platform to be able to view the videos. It has a wide variety of available videos of an infinite number of topics for registered and non registered users. It was created by some former employees of PayPal in 2004. In 2006 sold it to Google for the sum of 1.65 billion dollars. Currently is the most visited page in the world after Google.

Wikipedia!

Wikipedia is a proyect of the Wikimedia Foundation. It's a free, web-based, collaborative, multilingual and non-profit encyclopedia. It was launched on 2001 by Larry Sanger and Jimmy Wales, with an original idea where anyone could edit the webpage and help build up any article. It quickly began to expand and gain more popularity as people noticed how practical and useful it is. Its name means "Fast encyclopedia". Wikipedia is the most used reference work in the Internet, available in 240 languages, and also a great example of an expanding Web 2.0 website. Wikipedia is oftern characterized by the Editing Model, their neutrality, their cites, their high quality and coverage of topics; but also criticized for its non reliability.

Delicious.com

Formely called del-icio-us, its a website made for people to store, share, and create web bookmarks. It´s functions are completely free, and the bookmarks are visible to all who access this website. It is possible though, to keep the bookmarks private if the user whishes. Delicious also has the option of tagging bookmarks altogether; this allows the user to view all recent bookmarks of the same link.
The site was founded by Joshua Schachter in the year 2003, and before then it was known as Muxway, a link blog that Schachter made in order to keep tabs on certain things. When he released Delicious, he went down the road of fame, and on December 9 of 2005, he decided to sell the site to Yahoo! for a handsome amount of money.
